Finalists of the Cool Silicon Art Award 2011

The five-member Jury of the Cool Silicon Art Award 2011 which wants to initiate the for the community strongly needed communication between art and technology has nominated the 10 finalists from 6 nations out of 110 applications.
The international jury which consists, in the sense of the Cool Silicon Art Award, of both representatives of art and technologies and research and wants to show a wide, artistical, international and contemporary range of art works which don`t simply depict linearly  the social and global development in the context of energy efficiency but scrutinize from the artistic, metaphorical and philosophical point of view with the complex languages of art as: photography, installation, interactive installation, drawing, sculpture, light and kinetics.

The 10 finalists take part in the first exhibition of the Cool Silicon Art Award 2011 that will be opened on December 9th in the building ensemble "Deutsche Werkstätten Hellerau".

The Cool Silicon Art Award is endowed with 10,000 euros.
